If you’re looking to get in shape, I have just the thing for you. Just the thing, I tell you.
See? Look at my girlish figure. It clearly works for me. Here are the basics to an effective workout, Leah-style.
Before you begin exercising, you must have a healthy snack.
After your snack, don’t forget to stretch. A very effective and important stretch it this one, which stretches out your legs in preparation for what’s to come.
Next, you can do a few pushups, which get your heartrate up and can also work to stretch your muscles out a little more.
If you choose, you can do some resistance training. Tugging and pulling against something stronger than you is a good way to challenge yourself and build up your strength over time.
Remember: the harder you pull, the better the workout.
Next, I recommend walking. Lots and lots of walking. Depending on how strenuously you walk and how good your balance is, you may need a mouthpiece to protect your teeth if you fall. (Teeth are very important. They take a very long time to get in, and once they’re here they are good for lots of fun things. You must protect them.) It can also prove beneficial to use a light weight as you walk, to help tone your arm muscles, and you can burn many more calories if you swing your arms vigorously as you move.
Sometimes, too, walking with a friend – like your dog – can make your workout a little bit more fun. Just be sure your dog knows which way you want to walk.
Walking is fun!
After I walk, I enjoy doing a few squats. These are likely to make your thighs really burn…..
…..so you may need to take a little break.
After you finish your squats, remember to stretch it out again. Once you’ve finished cooling off, you can go find a snack to replenish your energy.
Mmmm……bacon…….
No, no, no! Just because you’ve burned so many calories, you cannot gorge yourself in a caloriefest. A humongous bacon cheeseburger will completely undo all that you’ve worked so hard for!
Instead, I try to opt for another healthy and light snack.
After all, we have to watch our figures, right?
