A couple of weeks ago we sort of randomly stumbled on something that I think was supposed to be pretty fun.
Now that makes it sound really exciting, doesn’t it?
I was running some errands on Saturday when I saw a banner advertising a hot air balloon show that evening. It said there would be tether balloon rides and a balloon glow at sunset and I, being one who enjoys doing random new things, thought this would be something our little family would enjoy. I never for one second thought we’d take Leah up in a balloon, but I thought she would enjoy looking at them, anyway.
Well, the “show” turned out to be little more than, well, a singular hot air balloon. There were others, but I think the wind may have been scaring them a little and they never inflated them. We watched the one they did inflate, though, and that was neat.
Truth be told, I think Leah enjoyed gathering rocks from the field more than watching the balloon…..but I can’t say I was surprised. That girly loves her rocks.
See? We tried to get an actual portrait of the two of us, and eventually succeeded, but I decided I liked this one best. I like that she’s more focused on her pebbles than on looking at the camera. It captures the moment.
And yes, I know it’s “Mommy and Me” Monday, but I really like this one of Leah and her daddy.

How cool! I've never been that close to a hot air balloon, much less been on one. Gonna have to put that on my to-do list!!

those are some great pictures. love the ones of you guys looking at the balloons. it would be super cool to see a whole bunch of them all blown up. or inflated. whichever is correct 'balloon' terms. :0)
