When I was little, I wish that someone had told me how special it was that my great-grandparents were still around. As just a very little girl, I had no way of knowing how incredible it was that we had 4 generations…that my parents’ grandparents got to meet their great-grandchildren.
(left) 4 generations on my Mom’s side of the family: (L-R) Ashley, MaMaw, me, Angelia, Mom, and Granny, and (right) 4 generations on my Dad’s side of the family: (L-R) Mom (pregnant with me!), Dad, Angelia, MeMaw, and Grandaddy.
Now that I have a daughter of my own, I’m thrilled beyond words that she gets to know her great-grandparents. I know she’s really too young to “know” anyone, but it’s precious to me that my own grandparents get to hold my sweet girl. It’s a beautiful thing.
These were all taken back in June….which explains why Leah looks so tiny and why we’re all wearing clothing that’s inappropriate for February (even in Georgia).

I remember when you posted these back then! I was so pregnant and it was just more fodder to the fuel of "I WANT MY BABY!" :-) I'm telling you, though, watching Leah grow up on here got me through some of my toughest pregnancy days.
i agree with you...it is SPECIAL. i remember growing up around my great grandparents and even remember meeting my great-great grandmother once.
i feel blessed that my own grandmother is close by and olivia is very close to her GIGI!
love this post :)
That is wonderful! I got to meet one great grandparent, but unfortunately lost my grandparents fairly young and my Dad in my late 20's. So often you see people take that all forgranted - it's really nice that you don't!
When my oldest daughter was born I actually have pictures of 5 generations. 5 generations of women that were the all first born. Pretty cool.
I love your pictures!
The places where I've guest blogged are both blogs run by cloth diaper stores. At their store they offer the chance to blog for rewards points which they will turn into gift certificates at their stores when you get a certain amount of points. I just signed up for their newsletters and then responded when they asked for guest bloggers. I don't do it because I particularly want to, I do it for the free stuff :-)
I have always felt the same way you do about family. It seems the older we get the more family means to us. I wish you had gotten a chance to meet Papaw. He was a great man.
Looking forward to the weekend!
I'm so blessed that I still have both of my parents and that you and the babies have gotten to be with them. This is another beautiful post, sweetie.
