If you’ve spent much time around toddlers, you know that they are very eager to help with anything you’re doing, but that their limited fine motor skills severely restrict their ability to do so. Because of this, it is sometimes necessary to come up with other ways for them to “help” us. What you see here is Leah’s way of helping me change the sheets on our bed.
She was out of the way, which was – really – the biggest help of all. That drawer of my dresser (which contains my silk scarves and workout shorts and other random things) has now become her “allowed” drawer in our room, and is guaranteed to keep her occupied while I do what I need to do…if I can tolerate the mess she makes while she “helps” me.

That's great!
We got your card yesterday! I love that Leah sent her handprint back to Noelle!
Reminds me of a picture I have of my daughter 'helping' Daddy fold laundry!!
That's too cute. I love the last one on the right. And man oh man, I know what you mean. Toddler days are definitely different, aren't they?
Gosh. Leah is the sweetest. I love reading of her adventures. She seems to be a swell little helper. :-)
Awesome. I need to find "allowed" drawers and get some child proofing done on all the others.
BTW, your comment on my blog didn't have an email, so I responded there, but thought I would here too. yes, the crib guard does work. It was not too expensive, easy to put on (just washed it first) and we like it. There are several other options / styles (several of my friends did the plastic / snap on ones and liked those), so you can decide what works for your furniture / baby / taste.
What a big girl!
It's hard to sit back and look at the mess, I know.
I used to read it as "Here Mommy. Let me help you. You don't have anything else to do."
LOL!
Sent you some blog awards on my blog! It's been great getting to know you! Looking forward to a good yr in Blogworld! :)
