The Biggest News Yet.....or EVER!

Really and seriously.....we're pregnant!

I can't even tell you how excited we are. We're at 8 weeks right now, and everything is going beautifully so far. Even so, we covet your prayers. This little person already means the world to us, and I want him or her bathed in prayer from the very start.

I promise to keep you posted! I'm excited about having all of you with me on this journey.

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. (Psalm 139:13-16)

I can finally shout it to the top of the hills, to the very upper boughs of the grandest trees! I am so excited and feeling so blessed today. God is so good and on our side! How magnificent is all of this!

As special as this all is from YOUR point of view, it's very, very special from mine. To see the children that I love so much 'go forth and multiply'. The excitement is almost more than I can contain.

You know...I think you actually look bigger in the 8 week picture than you do in the 4 week picture....although the fact that you didn't broadcast your bare belly gives me a little doubts!
STill praying! Still esctatic!!!

And I'm really going to try to post soon. Did you get the email I sent you today? Comcast went out just as I sent it and I had to resend it and I wonder if it actually reached you.

And it must be SO nice for you to have it out there! I'm just ecstatic that I can refer to it on my blog in addition to talking about it with Nina...which I did this weekend and enjoyed thoroughly!!!

OHMYGOODNESS!!!!! *jumpin' for joy* Jessica!!! Wow...what a fantastic journey this will be! Hey, umm....is this how you get out of hearing grumpy homeowners on your answering machine?? hee hee Seriously this is super duper fantastic news!! I'm praying of course. There will be no shortage of blog material now. I'm nearly giddy, girl!

oh...on a kinda gross note, I wrapped both of my prenancy test sticks in 3 ziploc plastic bags & have kept them in the freezer all these years (for whatever reason-ew, I know). I take them out now & then and rmember that exciting day! They still show pink too! You never mentioned Scott's reaction to babycakes - shall we hear what he had to say??

Chanda Canup said...

Hahaha! I totally knew as soon as I read, "big news." You could say I've had some experience with this stuff (4 babies later....) AWESOME!!!! Congrats! I am so glad you shared!

Hey, I don't even know your due date! And my math isn't good enough to add 218 days to today's date.
In response to Birdie, my mom still has the pregnancy test from one of my little sisters. The one born right after me. But they looked WAY different back then! It was like something you see only in a laboratory.
ANd I'm sorry that you're jealous! I'm sorry you don't get summers off! I thought to mention that teachers work more hours on average than the regular career person to justify our summers off...and we only get paid 9 months of the year...supposedly. I get mine stretched out for 12 months though so it FEELS like I'm being paid for nothing, but I'm really not. I miss you!!! I REALLY hope Dave takes me to visit you on our way. I REALLY do! You have no idea. I'm just DYING to see you!!!! And I've learned how to keep on the "nagging" way of asking him where we're going so he won't suspect I already found out. It's not as hard as I thought to keep him from knowing I accidentally discovered it! Thanks to you and Scott!

...and is it time for another picture yet???? Is it? Hmm??? I LOVE seeing your belly expand. It makes it more real.
