Making Room for Baby: Project #1

Before

I love our house. What I do not love is that I am a packrat with lots of stuff, and that our house - with its few closets - has trouble accommodating me and said stuff. In anticipation of another little person joining our ranks, and knowing full well that said little person will have lots of stuff of his or her own, Scott and I made plans to build a new closet in what will be the baby's room. Well, let's be honest. We made plans for Scott and his dad to build a new closet. This ambitious project commenced yesterday.

Dad on the floor playing with the electrical stuff. Scary business.

Scott cutting the drywall

This one makes me smile.

Inside the "closet"

I'll be honest here and tell you that I vanished downstairs for awhile. I think I was of better use just staying out of the way. They worked and pounded for several hours, and when I came back upstairs, I found this:

And this:

After. Well, after their work from yesterday. The inside isn't finished.

Nice!! Can they come over to my house and build me another closet?!?! LOL.

Our closets are packed to the brim and I often times wonder what on earth we will do when we have our first child. Good to know this is an option :-D

That´s awesome! Have you thought of having a tag sale to get rid of some of your excess stuff? Oh, and If I can't get ahold of my brother, you might be seeing us this Thursday as well. He keeps his cell off at all times...but I'm pretty sure he'll be able to swing a visit from us... But if he doesn't....can we stop by your place...pretty please?

Oooh! In the before pic you had your feria pic up! You know, when we went back to Spain, I looked for that picture and did you know that it is one of the most popular, and no one ever has it, and the one pic I found was like 100 euro so I was like, forget it!
...if I had only known this when they were giving them out free back when we lived there....Grrr!

Such a good feeling to get a project done. I bet, too, that the daddy and the grandpa felt really good to do their part in the baby preperations.

Didn't you stand there thinking, Am I really cutting a hole in the wall? Am I really going to have a baby?? I felt that way when we cleaned out the spare room for BUbby. IT was all becoming "real" then - surreal!!
