"The view's different on this side, isn't it?"
That's what one of my fellow churchgoers said to me as I sat in the church lobby giving Leah a bottle during the service yesterday. I had been at the church through two services and hadn't heard any of the sermon, and had been in the lobby for half an hour trying to make restless and fussy Leah happy. (We haven't put her in the church nursery yet. I don't think her daddy is ready for that yet.)
As I sat and fed her and listened to the muffled noises from inside the worship area, I couldn't help but ponder the truth behind that simple statement. The view is very, very different on this side of motherhood.
The world looks different. Life looks different. People look different. My perspective on everything is different, my fears are different, and my hopes are different. In an instant, everything changed.

2 of your thoughts:
I remember while I was pregnant someone told me that when I had my own children the world would seem like an eviler place... I didn't understand them until after Judah was born, but wow!! It certainly seemed to get so much worse after he was born :)
Your comment about the game made me laugh so hard!! lol.
Excellent post. Very true.
